    NorthPac Advisory Inc. ("NorthPac", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information in connection with our website, [www.northpacadvisory.com] (the "Website"), and website enquiries.

    This policy is intended to address the requirements of British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act ("PIPA").

    1. Scope

    This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Website, including information submitted through the contact form and limited technical and usage information collected when visitors use the Website.

    It does not replace the privacy terms in a written engagement agreement. If NorthPac enters into a professional engagement with a client, the applicable engagement agreement and related privacy communications may govern personal information collected in that engagement.

    2. Personal information we collect

    Information you provide

    If you contact us through the Website, we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, business name, email address, telephone number, the subject of your enquiry, and the contents of your message.

    Please do not submit confidential, sensitive, banking, payroll, employee, tax, financial-account, government-identification, or other sensitive personal information through the contact form.

    Information collected automatically

    We use Squarespace to host and operate the Website. We also use Squarespace Analytics to understand aggregate Website traffic and activity. When you visit the Website, Squarespace and its service providers may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, which may include:

    ·        your IP address;

    ·        browser type, device type, operating-system information, and network information;

    ·        referring and exit pages or websites;

    ·        pages visited, clicks, internal links, scrolling, searches, timestamps, and other interactions with the Website;

    ·        approximate location derived from IP address; and

    ·        information about your browser, network, and device.

    Squarespace records visitor activity through browser-based technologies and uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with Website functionality, security, performance, and analytics.

    NorthPac also uses Google Search Console to review aggregated information about how the Website appears in Google Search, such as search queries, impressions, clicks, and search position. Google Search Console provides NorthPac with aggregate information about how the Website appears in Google Search, such as search queries, impressions, clicks, and search position.

    NorthPac does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through the Website.

    3. How we use personal information

    We collect, use, and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including to:

    ·        respond to and follow up on your enquiry;

    ·        assess whether NorthPac's services may be relevant to your business;

    ·        operate, protect, maintain, and improve the Website;

    ·        understand aggregate Website traffic, performance, and visitor activity;

    ·        maintain business records and communicate with you about a request you have made;

    ·        comply with legal, regulatory, professional, insurance, and record-retention obligations; and

    ·        investigate security incidents, suspected fraud, or misuse of the Website.

    We do not use website contact-form information to send marketing emails unless you separately consent or another basis permitted by law applies.

    4. Consent

    By submitting personal information through the Website, you consent to NorthPac collecting, using, and disclosing that information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and at or before the time of collection.

    Where required or appropriate, we seek consent through the Website's cookie banner or other notice before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You may manage cookie preferences through the cookie banner and through your browser settings.

    You may withdraw or change your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting our Privacy Officer. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to respond to an enquiry or provide a requested service.

    5. How we disclose personal information

    NorthPac does not sell personal information.

    We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

    ·        Squarespace and its service providers, which host and support the Website and process Website, form, cookie, and analytics data;

    ·        Google Workspace and Google’s service providers, which we use for business email and communications. Contact-form submissions and related correspondence may be received, transmitted, stored, and accessed through Google Workspace in order to respond to and manage enquiries;

    ·        our information-technology, professional, legal, insurance, accounting, and other service providers, where needed to respond to an enquiry, operate our business, or meet professional obligations;

    ·        a successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of NorthPac, where permitted by law; and

    ·        government authorities, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties where required or permitted by law.

    We require service providers that handle personal information on our behalf to protect it appropriately and to use it only for authorized purposes.

    6. Storage and processing outside British Columbia or Canada

    Our service providers may store or process personal information outside British Columbia or Canada. In particular, Squarespace, Google Workspace, and their service providers may process Website, form, cookie, analytics, and email data in jurisdictions outside Canada.

    When personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed. NorthPac takes reasonable steps to use service providers that provide appropriate safeguards for personal information.

    7. Cookies and similar technologies

    Cookies are small text files stored on your device. The Website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for functionality, security, and Website operation. Because Squarespace Analytics is enabled, the Website may also use performance and analytics cookies or similar technologies to help us understand visitor traffic and activity.

    Squarespace identifies unique visitors and tracks sessions using analytics cookies. Some Squarespace analytics cookies may remain on a visitor's browser for up to two years; session cookies may expire sooner.

    You can manage cookie preferences using the Website's cookie banner, where available, or through your browser settings. If you disable necessary cookies, some Website features may not function properly.

    We do not currently use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, or other advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking tools. If we add any of these tools, we will update this Privacy Policy and our cookie settings before enabling them.

    8. Retention

    We retain Website enquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry, maintain appropriate business records, meet legal, regulatory, professional, insurance, or tax obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

    As a general practice, NorthPac intends to delete or anonymize Website enquiry information no later than 24 months after the last meaningful interaction, unless a longer retention period is reasonably required for one of the purposes above or the information becomes part of an active client, prospect, legal, or business record.

    9. Security

    NorthPac uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information to protect personal information in our custody or control against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks.

    No method of internet transmission, electronic storage, or Website operation is completely secure. Please do not transmit sensitive or confidential information through the Website contact form.

    10. Access, correction, and questions

    Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information about you in our custody or control, request correction of information that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete, withdraw consent, or ask questions about our privacy practices.

    To make a request or raise a concern, contact our Privacy Officer:

    Privacy Officer:

    Dale Graham, CPA

    We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. If we cannot resolve your privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

    11. Changes to this policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, the Website, or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on the Website with its effective date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before using or disclosing personal information for a new purpose.
